For our next meeting
(06/23/2011) Veritas will follow up on last week's discussion on "What Happens at Mass" with reflections on our experience at Mass this past Sunday.

Newsweek has an article quoting the president of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children as well as an insurance executive as saying that incidents of sexual abuse are no higher within the Church than within other religious denominations. The article also states that the rate of abuse by Catholic priests is not higher than that of the general American male population.

While we Veritas members love our meetings and discussions we realize that other pursuits, such as community service, are also an important part of our Catholic faith. Additionally, we try to keep up with other local events (such as Theology on Tap or Catholic Dinner Club) that might be of interest to area Catholics.
